Yard Decorations

Image hosting by Photobucket
Which one do you think represents me?

Thanks to Mom & Dad Dein for the cute yard decorations. When the wind blows these guys pedal like mad. Their wheels are a little tacoed, but I figure that just means they're extreme athletes, right?

Short ride, weights and some trail running intervals for me today. Tomorrow's 71 degree high will find me doing a 3 hour DT ride. The levy and I are going to get even better acquainted!

70 degrees? That's so not fair. I can't wait to just wear leg warmers. Right now I still have to layer tights on top and I always feel like my legs aren't bending right.

I'm linking your blog to mine!

I'm going to add a link to your blog today. You're an inspiration to us warm weather wusses! I'm going out again this afternoon and have to be sure to wear sunblock. Even though it's not as cold as your neck of the woods, my skin has been covered up and I still need to get my base tan in before I stop turning pink each time flesh sees the sun!

First of all i would like to give you some kudos on your efforts and your training that you are doing to get yourself ready for your year of racing. But i see you talk alot of downtown rides, shouldn't you be spending say three to five hours on a actual trail seeing as you want to some 12 and 24 hour races solo? Just a thought, but still keep on trucking.

I found your page just by surfing around blogs, i will have to check back in to see all of the ladies results.

I get lots of trail time in...but you're right to bring it up. But there's no better way to test out which shorts you want in an endurance event than to do a ride where you butt doesn't leave the saddle. I'll have several trail riding posts in the next couple days.

I do most of my training on pavement too. It allows a more consistant heart rate, not to mention the fact that it saves my mountain bike parts.

I think that you are training wisely. Usually I will end up on a trail 2-3 times a week (when our trails are rideable), one day for a really long time to condition my muscles for what's about to happen when I enter a long mountain bike race.

The biggest challenge for me is simulating what I want to eat during a race. I will train with a certain food for days, only to find that I can't stomach it during race pace.

Thanks Danielle. I found some food stuffs that worked well for me last year. I lose a lot of salt, personally, so I need to get that in, and luckily crave it while riding. I was just telling my husband that I need to start testing to ensure that the same foods work for me this year. I can't imaging things have changed that much, but you never know!
